No School Reminder
A reminder to families that there are no classes on Thursday, February 12th or Friday, February 13th due to the Teachers Convention. School is also closed on Monday, February 16th for Family Day.
We are looking forward to seeing everyone back in class on Tuesday, February 17th.
Gratitude | Grade 2 Sharing Assembly
We would like to express a huge thank you to the “Grade 2 Canada Crew” for their thoughtful, enthusiastic, and engaging celebration of learning this Tuesday.
Thank you as well to all the families who were able to join us for each presentation. Your support is appreciated by both students and teachers!
Learn and Share | School Planning
We know we make better decisions to support student learning when we build understanding and work together. That’s why we’ll be sharing information about school planning and asking you to share your perspectives at an upcoming school council meeting.
During this engagement, you will have the opportunity to:
- Learn About
- School planning, which includes the school development plan, school budget and school fees
- How the school development plan sets the overall focus and direction for a school to improve student learning outcomes
- How the school budget provides funding to implement our school development plan
- School fees and why they are necessary
- Participate
- Participate in our in-person school council meeting on February 24th at 5:30pm to learn more about school planning. There will be an opportunity to provide feedback at this meeting.
We will send families a link to the survey results, our school development plan, and school budget/fees information when it’s available. We will also post this information on our school website.
Alien In-line
An Acknowledgement of Risk form has been sent home with students for our Alien In-line Residency, beginning February 23rd. We kindly ask that the signed form be returned to the school as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, or you require an additional form to be sent home, please contact your child’s classroom teacher.
Family Travel Survey
We would love your feedback as part of the Active & Safe routes to school project. Through this project, we are partnering with Ever Active Schools and the City of Calgary to encourage active travel and promote pedestrian and motor vehicle safety in school zones.
As we build our plan, your feedback will give us a better understanding of how students get to and from school, as well as any challenges that may occur along the way. The link to the survey is below.
