Pink Shirt Day
In response to a new student being bullied for wearing a pink shirt, two Nova Scotia students took a stand against bullying by wearing pink as well. This act of kindness has grown into a symbol against bullying in schools across the globe and has inspired Pink Shirt Day.
On Wednesday, February 25th we invite all Keeler students, staff, and community members to wear pink as a visual symbol of support for kindness, inclusion, and respect for others.
We aim to create welcoming, caring, safe, and respectful school spaces every day at Keeler and throughout the Calgary Board of Education. The link below includes some additional information and resources for interested families:

School Planning
Our next in-person school council meeting will be held on February 24th at 5:30pm. During this meeting, we will share information about the school planning process and provide the opportunity for you to share your perspectives.
We also invite families to watch this short video to learn about the planning work schools do to improve and support student learning.
Pick Up and Drop Off Reminders
You may have noticed the new traffic calming measures installed by the City of Calgary within our bussing zone. In addition to these new visual reminders, we ask that families continue to consider the following at drop off and pick up times:
- Model crossing the street at the designated crosswalk only, which is patrolled by our Grades 5 and 6 Safety Patrol teams in the afternoons.
- Plan your route so you do not have to perform a U-Turn.
- Refrain from parking within the bussing zones along 47 St SE when picking up and dropping off students.
- Be aware of the speed limit (30 km/h) and use caution when school buses are unloading and loading due to limited visibility.
We appreciate your help in keeping our students and visitors safe and welcome you to share input through our Family Travel Survey (https://forms.office.com/r/jUx4Ryq9sF).
Lost and Found
Our lost and found has begun to overflow! Please remind your children to check the lost and found area for any missing personal items (hats, coats, mittens, boots, water bottles, etc.). Any items that remain unclaimed by February 27th will be donated.
