Alien Inline Skating
We are excited to welcome Alien Inline back to Keeler from February 23 – March 13th. Our students are looking forward to practicing their inline skating skills with the support of a certified instructor. Acknowledgement of risk forms have begun to be sent home with students and should be in backpacks by next week at the latest.
To participate in this activity, students must have returned a completed Acknowledgement of Risk form to their classroom teacher, signed by a parent/guardian.
Although it is not required, students are welcome to bring a helmet from home on their skating days. Skating day schedules will be shared with families through Google Classroom soon!
Teachers Convention | No Classes
A reminder to families that there are no classes on Thursday, February 12th or Friday, February 13th due to the Teachers Convention. School is also closed on Monday, February 16th for Family Day.
30 Years of Black History Month in Canada
This February marks an important time in our history and is reflected in this year’s Black History Month theme in Canada, “30 Years of Black History Month: Honouring Black Brilliance Across Generations — From Nation Builders to Tomorrow’s Visionaries.”
We recognize and celebrate the legacy, leadership, and contributions of Black Canadians who have helped shaped this countries social, political, and cultural landscape. Many classrooms at Keeler will be learning about these contributions through ELAL and social studies curriculums.
Active & Safe Routes to School Project
This year, we’ve partnered with Ever Active and the City of Calgary to be part of the Active & Safe Routes to School project. This initiative provides ongoing support to encourage active travel and address traffic concerns around school zones.
As part of this project, we’d love your help! Please take a few minutes to fill out our Family Travel Survey. Your feedback will give us a better understanding of how students get to and from school, as well as any challenges along the way.
