May Long Weekend | No School
A reminder to families that Friday, May 15th is a non-instruction day and Monday, May 18th is Victoria Day. There are no classes on either of these days.
We hope you all enjoy a lovely long weekend and look forward to welcoming students back on Tuesday.
Spring Celebration Update
Our Spring Celebration will take place on May 21 from 4:00–7:00 pm. Families are invited to join us for an evening of fun and connection centered around our school-wide social-emotional learning program, Courageous Cougars.
Each grade team will host activities throughout the school, with classroom locations and activities listed on a “passport” available at the front entrance (one per student, please).
Families are then invited outside for a free hot dog and to submit completed passports for our door prize draws. Winners will be announced and prizes will be sent home with students the following week.
Please also note that Welcome to Kindergarten for our 2026–27 Kindergarten students will take place from 3:30–4:00 pm. Families attending are welcome to stay and join the Spring Celebration afterward.
We look forward to celebrating together as a school community!
Bikes, Scooters, and Skateboards
As the weather gets warmer, we know many of our students may enjoy riding, biking, or walking to school.
Please note that we do not have indoor storage space available for bikes, scooters, skateboards, or similar items. If your student chooses to bring these personal items to school we also encourage families to send a lock so they can be secured outside for the duration of the school day.
Volunteer Tea Reminder
We are so grateful for the time and support our volunteers give to the Keeler community and would like to invite all family members who have volunteered this year to join us for a Volunteer Tea on May 28 following our Kindergarten Assembly (starting at 9am).
Please RSVP to Rachel Scotland at rascotland@cbe.ab.ca if you are able to attend. We look forward to celebrating with you!
Education Matters | Thanks
Our school is very thankful for the support of Education Matters and their generous donors. With the help of this additional funding, Keeler Students have been able to experience some wonderful learning opportunities this year at no additional cost to families. This includes (but is not limited to) field trips to Telus Spark, Grades 5 & 6 Swimming Lessons, and our Grade 6 outdoor school experience.
We have also received funding for task bin supplies, maker space resources, and sensory items over the 2026-27 school year that have enriched the learning of all students at Keeler. Thank you, Education Matters!
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable long weekend,
Cailean & Rachel
