Thank you | Parent Teacher Conferences

Thank you to all our families who scheduled a meeting with your child's teacher this week. We appreciate the opportunity to connect around your child's learning and celebrate their time at Keeler! For families that were unable to attend conferences, and/or if you have any additional questions, please know that you are always welcome to contact your child’s classroom teacher by email.

WP Puppet Theatre

Our Division 1 students loved participating in their puppet theatre sessions this week! We explored light and shapes in Kindergarten, created emotion puppets based on “The Color Monster” in Grade 1, built “stuffies” in Grade 2, and two of our Grade 3 classes engaged in building buffalo stick puppets. The remaining Grade 3 students, alongside our 4-6 classes, will complete their puppet projects from December 8th – 11th.

Safety Reminders

To ensure the safety of all students at pick up and drop off times, we are including a few friendly reminders for families in this weekly message:

  • The staff parking lots are reserved for school personnel only. You are welcome to use street parking on Forego Avenue and 47 St SE to pick up or drop off students. Please check when doing so to ensure you are not blocking any driveways, parking lot entrances, or parked in a bus zone.
  • We understand that interruptions in routines may happen. Our school calendar is a helpful tool to support your child in attending school on instructional days. If you happen to arrive at school later than the 8am bell, please enter through the front door and walk with your child to the office.
  • Students know their classroom routines and can make their way to their classes independently. If you would like a staff member to walk your child to class, the office will be happy to assist. If you would like to speak to your child's teacher, we are also happy to support you in scheduling a time outside of instructional hours.

We appreciate your help and support with these items.

Personal Devices at School

Students should not have cell phones (or any smart device, including smart watches) at school. Any devices brought to school will need to remain in the students backpack throughout the day. As a school, we provide any technology required for learning to our students. If you need to be in touch with their child during the school day, please contact the school office where we will be happy to connect you.

This policy is in accordance with the Government of Alberta’s Ministerial Order: Standards of Use for Personal Mobile Devices and Social Media in Schools.

Winter Break Reminder

We can't believe December has come so quickly! Please note that there will be no school from December 22nd  through  January 2nd due to the Winter Break.
