Welcome Back

It was wonderful to see all the creative costumes today, and to reconnect with students throughout this week. We have missed our Keeler school community! Please note that we are working on resuming/rescheduling missed events or activities as soon as possible (such as fall photos, classroom presentations, and field trips). When information becomes available, we will share it with families through this weekly message. Please see below for important information regarding some of these upcoming events.

Remembrance Day Assembly

On November 6th, our Remembrance Day assembly will be led by our Grade 1 students starting at 9am for Grades K, 2, 3 and 10am for Grades 4-6. Families are welcome to join us for this assembly at either time.

A Remembrance Day slideshow is being created by the Grade 1 team. We are inviting school families to send their photographs of family members who are veterans or current members of the Canadian Armed Forces. If you have pictures that you would like to share, please email these to Jaclyn Cruz at jacruz@cbe.ab.ca with the subject Remembrance Day Photos before Tuesday, November 4th. Include the Canadian Armed Forces veteran or current member’s name, the war or peace keeping mission they participated in, and their relationship to your child (for example great grandfather, aunt etc.).

Transportation Safety Message and Patrols

We plan to start AMA safety patrols on Monday, November 3rd

In preparation for our student patrol team to be outside at the end of the day, please review the following safety messages from CBE transportation:

  • Always obey school safety patrols.
  • Stop for pedestrians crossing at all marked and unmarked crosswalks and intersections.
  • Never pass a vehicle at a crosswalk or in a playground zone.

Thank you for your attention to this as we work together to ensure all students travel to and from school safely.

Fall Break

Fall break will occur over November 8th –12th. During this time the school will be closed. We look forward to welcoming students back to class on November 13th

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences will occur as scheduled on November 27th from 3:30pm – 7:00pm and on November 28th from 8:00am – 12:00pm. Booking information will be shared with families shortly. We would love to see your family; teachers are looking forward to the chance to reconnect around your child's learning.

Have an enjoyable and safe weekend,

Cailean and Rachel
