First Day of School for Grades 1-6 is August 31st
The school office is open August 27th from 8am-2:30pm and on the 28th from 8am-12pm.
Kindergarten students will return to school full time on September 2nd or 3rd, depending on individual schedules. A and B schedule families have received their schedules by email, and all Kindergarten families will receive their staggered entry information by Friday.
School hours will remain the same, and are posted on our website, along with the school calendar: https://school.cbe.ab.ca/school/Keeler/Pages/default.aspx
Homeroom teachers will email families to introduce themselves on August 27th or 28th. They will also be ready to welcome you and your child on the first day of school in the school field/compound by the playground. More information will be shared by individual homeroom teachers this week.
Supervision
Please note that outdoor supervision is available as of 7:50am each morning. At this time, students can be brought to the school fields and courtyard. Supervising teachers will be wearing safety vests for visibility.
What to Bring to School
All general school supplies are provided to students (ie. pencils, glue, paper, scissors, etc...). If you have any questions about supplies, please feel free to connect with your child's homeroom teacher.
Families should send their children with a pair of indoor shoes to remain at school. Additionally, each child should bring a lunch and snacks. If a family is experiencing food insecurity, please share this with the classroom teacher, and we will provide support.
Mobile devices must remain 'away for the day', in alignment with the Alberta Education Minsterial Order. Please take a moment to review the CBE Away for the Day information sheet.
2026/2027 Yellow School Bus Service
Yellow School Bus Service registration remains open for the 2026/2027 school year. Registration is available using your MyCBE account.
It can take up to 8 weeks to assign a bus stop, and students are not permitted to ride the bus until assigned to a bus stop.
Please ensure that students are using the bus stop location that they are assigned in their MyCBE Account.
Students will board assigned buses at the end of the day for safety reasons. When picking up your child, please ensure you know the correct location for your assigned stops.
If you need support finding your assigned bus stop, please contact the school.
Construction Reminder
A reminder to families that our school has been undergoing renovations throughout the summer months. Construction and cleaning crews are in the process of putting the final touches on much on their work, and we can assure you that school will resume as scheduled.
There will continue to be some renovation work throughout the school year, most of which will occur outside school hours. If renovation work is to occur during hours, disruptions to learning will be minimized.
This work is part of a large revitalization project for Keeler School, and we are very excited for the final outcome! Please let us know if you have any questions.
Weekly Message Communication
Moving forward, our Weekly Message will be shared with families on Friday afternoons. Please feel free to contact the school with questions or concerns.
We hope you enjoy the last few days of summer!
Cailean Duggan and Rachel Scotland
