Solar Eclipse – Monday, April 8
On Monday, students will remain inside from 8am to 2:30pm. Students will stay inside for physical education, and daily physical activity times.
Please tell your child to refrain from looking up at the sky before and after school that day.

In-line skating is starting at Keeler for all students on Monday from April 8-26.
Please complete and return Acknowledgement of Risk forms so your child can participate.
Thank you again to School Council, as they have covered the cost of this activity, and so there is no cost to families for this activity.
FREE Hull Services Offer
Hull Services is offering a FREE Community Parent Education Program. This program runs once a week for 8 weeks. It’s free to any interested parent, adult and/or caregiver AND their children aged 5-12. The course focuses on teaching effective parenting skills, coupled with a children’s social skills group. The children’s group will focus on social skills such as how to listen, how to accept no/disappointment, how to express their feelings and how to deal with being angry/frustrated.
The topics we discuss in the parent group are:
- Relationship Building and Positive Behaviour
- Reducing Conflict and Managing Transitions Successfully
- Special Incentives and Collaborative Planning
- Consequences for Serious Problems
- Problem Solving Strategies
The Children's Village School, in the NE community of Renfrew, will be hosting the upcoming course this spring. The start date of the course is Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 6:00pm.

Dr. Gordon Higgins School Transitions
Grade 6 Families – If you have a student transitioning to Dr. Gordon Higgins School for Grade 7 next year, there are two important dates after Spring Break:
- April 11: Dr. Gordon Higgins School is coming to visit Grade 6 students at Keeler.
- April 17: Keeler travels to Dr. Gordon Higgins School. Please return completed forms to school
Grade 6 Trip – Camp Chestermere
If your child is in Grade 6, please return forms for the Camp Chestermere trip (April 24-25). If you have questions about this trip, please contact your child’s teacher.
The cost for this trip has been covered together by an Education Matters donation, and the generous support of School Council. As such, there is no cost to families for this trip.
