AMA School Safety Patrols 

We are so thankful for the Grade 5 and 6 students who expressed their interest in participating in school safety patrols this year - we had over 60 applicants this school year! Due to capacity, names were drawn and a smaller number of students attended training this week.  

We are hoping to begin safety patrols on Tuesday, October 13^th.  Students who have attended patrol training will know their schedule by Friday, October 9^th at the latest.  

After School Program | Koko’sinooniks 

Koko’sinooniks (Our Children) is a free community-based program that focuses on building positive relationships and cultural awareness among participants. There is still room for interested students and families to register. 

Many activities will have an Indigenous focus in connection to traditional ways of knowing. There will also be various fun games, crafts, and activities to build social and emotional skills as part of the kid's program. 

This program will run out of Keeler School from October 5^th onward for the current school year. Please reach out to your child’s classroom teacher if you require a registration form. 

Fall Photo Days 

Lifetouch will be at Keeler for individual student photos and class photos on Wednesday, October 14^th and Thursday, October 15^th. 

Young Bhangra Dance 

We are excited to welcome Young Bhangra, a Calgary-based dance school, back to Keeler. Young Bhangra is dedicated to teaching and sharing the vibrant art of Bhangra to students. They will be facilitating dance workshops within each classes scheduled Physical Education time from October 20^th–22^nd, then again on October 26^th. 

Dance and movement are important aspects of our physical education curriculum, and we are excited to explore these concepts in new and unique ways with the support of Young Bhangra Academy. Please reach out to your child's classroom teacher with any questions.
