Halloween | Costumes

Halloween is coming up quickly on Saturday, October 31! Students are invited (but not required) to wear school appropriate costumes on Friday, October 30 to celebrate. For the safety of all students, please ensure that costumes worn at school do not include masks, props, and violent depictions/gore/blood.

Teachers will have an exciting morning of learning activities planned for students, including an opportunity to visit the Halloween Sock Hop in our Gymnasium.

Quest Theatre Performance

Quest Theatre is coming to Keeler this Thursday, October 29.  They have generously donated a performance of “The General” to our School.

A reminder that to accommodate every classroom, there will be two 50-minute showings with 10 minutes at the end for student questions.

Thank you Quest Theatre!

Remembrance Day Assembly

On November 10th, our Remembrance Day assembly will be led by part of our Grade 1/2 (Reguly, Teja, Marcil, Radloff) at both 9am and 10am. Families are welcome to join us for either assembly time, as both will be the same in format, content, and structure.

In preparation for this assembly, we are inviting school families to send their photographs of family members who are veterans or current members of the Canadian Armed Forces. If you have pictures that you would like to share, please email these to Kristin Reguly at kareguly@cbe.ab.ca with the subject Remembrance Day Photos before Friday, November 6th. Include the Canadian Armed Forces veteran or current member’s name, the war or peace keeping mission they participated in, and their relationship to your child (for example great grandfather, aunt etc.).

Winter Preparedness

The snow has returned! As temperatures may change quickly during winter months, please ensure your children come to school every day in warm outside gear (hat, mitten, coat, snowpants, boots).

If your family requires additional supplies to stay warm, please reach out to the school office.

Provincial Screening Results

Families of students in Grades 1-5 may have already received notification that provincial assessment screening results are being communicated to families next week. These results will be sent home with students in a sealed envelope starting Monday.

Please know that screening assessments are used to inform classroom instruction and student growth only. They are not considered when assigning grades.

If you have any questions about your child's learning, please book a time to discuss with their teacher during our upcoming Parent Teacher Interviews on November 26th or 27th (more information to come!).

Christmas Wish List

Keeler School has been given a series of QR codes for any families that would like to apply to 'Christmas Wish List'.  Please stop by the office and pick one up if you are interested or have any questions.

Note: Their deadline to apply is October 31, 2026.

Stay warm this weekend,
