No School Tomorrow 

A reminder to families that Friday, September 25^th is a non-instruction day and there are no classes for students.  

Meet the Teacher is Tonight! 

We hope to see many of you at our Meet the Teacher BBQ tonight, September 24th. Below are a few reminders for families: 

• The school BBQ runs from 4:30pm – 7:00pm. Teachers will be in their classrooms starting at 5:00pm and are excited to introduce themselves and show you the classroom space. There are no formal parent-teacher interviews scheduled for this evening. 
• To receive food, families will first receive a ticket to exchange. Ms. Scotland will be outside (around the back of the school) and providing families with tickets free of cost. An adult supervisor must be in attendance to receive a ticket for food. 
• School staff will not be providing supervision during Meet the Teacher. Please plan to stay and enjoy the evening with your child 
• The Koko’sinooniks (Our Children) staff will be attending and are located outside the school gymnasium to meet families and answer any questions parents/guardians or students may have about the program. 

We look forward to seeing you this evening! 

Field Trips and Volunteer Registration 

Field trips are coming soon to Keeler School! For all field trips, necessary forms will be sent home with students for families to read, sign, and return. There may also be an associated fee to cover costs of the trip.  These fees will be added to parent MyCBE accounts and can be paid online.  

If you have questions, concerns, or need support, please contact the front office.   

Keeler students need your help to make these trips happen! If you would like to volunteer for any of the field trips in any of the classes, even if not for your own child’s class, please contact the front office. 

Thank you so much for considering – we would not be able to provide these learning opportunities for students without the generous support of our parent volunteers. 

AMA School Safety Patrols 

We are looking forward to bringing AMA School Safety Patrols back to Keeler this school year! Safety patrollers are an important part of ensuring our students can get to and from school safely. Participation in the patrols program is voluntary and requires a commitment of approximately 15 minutes for each scheduled shift (shifts will be scheduled after school only.) 

We require at least 20 student volunteers to successfully run our school patrols program. If your Grade 5 or 6 child is interested in participating, please sign and return a school safety patrols form to your child’s classroom teacher as soon as possible. We will communicate training and shift information with participating students and families very soon.

CAS Connects Program Opportunity 

The City of Calgary is offering a virtual after-school opportunity for kids ages 6–12. This program is free of cost. 

 
Participants will have the opportunity to build important skills like self-control, self-regulation, teamwork, and positive peer relationships. Every participant also receives a kit filled with fun activities and learning tools to keep the excitement going at home.
